|Andrew Wyeth lived just down the road and around the
corner from the Chadds Ford Gallery in Chadds Ford, Pennsylvania. It
was his custom to critique each show the gallery hung and sometimes share
his opinions with the women who ran the gallery. When I chose this
original watercolor about 40 years ago, the gallery manager told me Andy had
said this was the best painting in that show. I agreed.
If you are familiar with Paul's work, you will notice this
one was completed before he started putting a tiny red cardinal in every
painting. Unfortunately, we lost this gentle giant of a friend to
cancer about 5 years ago.
Under glass, double matted with a wooden frame.
Framed size: 24" x 19"
